Life Lines and Nasty Women Athens

I’ll be showing some artwork from my new Limpidity series in Life Lines at The Arts Exchange on Saturday, June 17th! Art, music, and party starts at 8 pm. Below is a preview of what I will be showing and what I have been working on lately!

lifeline

a: a line (such as a rope) used for saving or preserving life: such as
b : a line along the outer edge of the deck of a boat or ship
c : a line used to keep contact with a person (such as a diver or astronaut) in a dangerous or potentially dangerous situation
2
: something regarded as indispensable for the maintaining or protection of life

I am also super stoked to be showing work in Nasty Women Athens exhibition and fundraiser for Feminist Women’s Health Center - Atlanta at Trio Contemporary Art Gallery. I will be donating two of my favorite collages to this awesome cause.

The Nasty Women Project “is a group exhibition that serves to demonstrate solidarity among artists who identify with being a Nasty Woman in the face of threats to roll back women’s rights, individual rights, and abortion rights. It also serves as a fundraiser to support organizations defending these rights and to be a platform for organization. Started by Roxanne Jackson and Jessamyn Fiore with the first Nasty Women exhibition in NYC in January 2017, the massive response has taken this call to arms into building an ever-expanding network of Nasty Women Artists & Art Organizers that has culminated in multiple exhibitions world-wide!”

The Feminist Women’s Health Center has “two goals: to provide outstanding, sensitive, and supportive reproductive health care services AND to empower our community through educational initiatives while advocating for reproductive justice and reproductive rights in our Community Education & Advocacy.”

I hope to see y’all at these two awesome exhibitions!

Peaches

I am extremely proud to be showing artwork in Peaches at the Midtown Players Club this week! I got a chance to check this awesome space out during the Hambidge Art Auction + Creative HiVE Gala.

Peaches
is an one night pop-up visual art event displaying local and international artists with a special guest performance by Sarah and the Safe Word. This is a show about love, self, acceptance, and life through the artists’ eyes.

All proceeds will go to Planned Parenthood and the Jeanette Rankin Foundation. Support these incredible causes, the community, and local artists with $5 entry fee and buying some art! Donations of feminine products for homeless women are highly encouraged as well.

Love and Death

Here is a sneak peek of my three new pieces that will be showing at Kibbee Gallery for their Love and Death show opening this Saturday, February 18th from 6-10 PM!

Love and Death is “a group show about love, death and life. A memento mori in the form of an art show. A reminder of death is a reminder to embrace life, and what better way than love… or an art show.” I hope to see you there!

Additionally, don’t forget to follow me on Instagram: @tracielhinnant. I have been posting my works in progress over there in my story as well as more photographic studies.

EDIT: Check out these new pieces here - Toxicity.
