Hand Eye

My friend, Asa, mentioned being part of this skateboard art show and asked me if I wanted to join him. I said, “Absolutely.” The show was presented by Ruin Inc. and the proceeds went to purchasing socks for those who are homeless in the the Metro Atlanta area. 

Being more free form with my recent painting and drawing style was really fun. Also, I finally tried out the clear gesso I have had for a while. Having the wood grain show through the paint has been an effect I have tried with watercolor and I am glad that it works with acrylic too. I added a little bit of gold pigment powder to the gesso as well. The Georgia weather decided to be nice and sunny the day of the exhibition. I got to learn a lot about skateboarding from Asa and see some people pull off some cool tricks (and some wipe outs too) at Brook Run Skate Park. Check out the spread of boards:

31st Annual McNeese National Works on Paper Exhibition

I am so honored to be part of McNeese State University’s 31st Annual Works on Paper Exhibition. This is my first exhibition this year that is outside of Georgia! I sent off my little 5 x 7 collage called Idiosyncrasies (pictured below) off today for the Opening Reception happening Thursday, March 22nd from 6-8 PM. The show will run through May 10th so if you are in Louisiana in the next couple of months, go check out this awesome exhibition!

McNeese State University’s 31st Annual Works on Paper Exhibition was juried by Benjamin Hickey, Curator of Exhibitions at the Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Second LaGrange Southeast Regional

First exhibition of the year for me! I have my Strata piece in the Second LaGrange Southeast Regional Exhibition at the LaGrange Art Museum and Lamar Dodd Art Center and Visual Arts Museum of LaGrange College
